County adopts new open records policy, 50¢ copy fee
Bourbon County commissioners voted 4-1 Monday to adopt a new open records policy. It sets a 50-cent copy fee and makes each county office responsible for handling requests for its own records.
Bourbon County commissioners voted 4-1 Monday to adopt Resolution 32-26, which changes how the county handles requests under the Kansas Open Records Act. The resolution also sets a new fee schedule for copies and staff time.
County Clerk Ann Clarkson brought the resolution back under old business at the Sept. 28 meeting, a week after commissioners first discussed it. Commissioner David Beerbower made the motion to adopt it as presented, and Commissioner Joe Allen voted against it.
