Bourbon County commissioners adopted the 2027 budget Monday, keeping the county’s mill levy at 56.678 mills, the same rate levied in 2026. The budget includes 5% raises for county employees after commissioners discussed whether to raise pay further or remove the raises altogether.

The vote was 4-1, with District 2 Commissioner David Beerbower casting the lone dissenting vote. District 5 Commissioner Mika Milburn-Kee made the motion, and District 3 Commissioner Joe Allen seconded it.
