No second, no increase: Transfer station rates stay the same.
A proposal to raise Bourbon County transfer station rates for the first time since the station opened died Monday without a second. Here's what was proposed and what was said.
A proposal to raise disposal rates at the Bourbon County transfer station died for lack of a second at Monday’s county commission meeting. The motion would also have given transfer station employees a 15% raise and set aside money for equipment and future cleanup costs.
District 2 Commissioner David Beerbower, who made the motion, said rates have not increased since the transfer station opened about 10 years ago. His proposal would have taken effect Jan. 1, 2027.
