The computer issues that closed Fort Scott City Hall on Aug. 18 were a ransomware attack, USD 234 IT Director Stephen Mitchell told the City Commission on Tuesday. The briefing was the city's first public account of the attack; Facebook posts that morning cited computer and phone issues and directed residents to use the drop box for payments.
