FORT SCOTT - Bourbon County commissioners did not adopt a 2027 budget at their Sept. 21 meeting, as members disagreed over how to fund projected overspending in the Road and Bridge Department and how large a wage increase to give county employees. The county has until Oct. 1 to adopt a budget under state law.
